A whole separate room to do laundry, to iron, and to store all the spare clothing... sounds like a dream? It may be true but a room like that can have its challenges. This room here has a sloping ceiling, a complex floor plan, and deep nooks where things just disappear. Yet, this laundry room has potential and there are in fact many ways to improve it. And IKEA is up for the challenge to make this place spick and span.

A room not living up to its full potential
This laundry room here is quite spacious as such, but the complex structure makes it difficult to make it fully functional. As you can see, most things are kept in open containers and shelves and objects tend to land where there seems to be enough space and not where they would belong and be easily accessible. Another issue is lighting as there is just one window.

Every thing needs a home
After the makeover, there is enough storage space for everything and every single thing has its designated place. The makeover shows that even a mishappen space can be converted into a fully functional room. IKEA interior designer reminds us to think about lighting – even the deepest nooks and crannies can be used comfortably if they have proper lighting.

Using the walls in a smart way
Pegboard combinations are a smart way to use available walls. IKEA designer's advice is to use it wisely as it is additional storage space. Here, our interior designer has created practical storage for small things that serves also as a wall panel to keep the wall safe from chipping caused by the iron. Attaching a lamp also ensures functional lighting.
